CTS R6 Discord Bot Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By installing, accessing, linking an account to or using the CTS R6 Discord bot, you agree to these Terms of Service and the CTS R6 Discord Bot Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the bot and use /unlink if your account is already linked.

2. Eligibility and Platform Rules

You must satisfy Discord’s minimum age requirement and comply with Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and applicable server rules.
You must satisfy any age, region, platform, roster, identity or eligibility rules for the CTS event you enter.
You must have authority to link the Discord account and CTS account you use.
CTS may refuse or restrict use where an account is suspended, banned, ineligible, fraudulent or presents a security risk.

3. CTS and Discord Account Linking

The /link command uses a one-time CTS code to connect your Discord user ID to your CTS account. You are responsible for keeping the link code private and using only your own accounts.

Do not share, sell or transfer link codes.
Do not link an account on behalf of another person without permission.
Notify CTS if you believe an account was linked incorrectly or compromised.
Use /unlink to end the active Discord link.

Unlinking does not automatically erase legitimate competition, match, moderation or audit records already created through CTS.

4. Bot Functions

Depending on CTS settings and your permissions, the bot may provide:

Account linking and account-link status.
Upcoming match schedules and event standings.
Match check-ins and result submissions.
Registration, match, check-in, reschedule, result, award and account notifications.
Participant, checked-in and moderation role synchronisation.
Private match channels and event announcements.

Some functions require an active CTS account, an approved registration, a linked Discord account, an open check-in window or assignment to a specific match.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not:

Abuse, spam, flood, scrape, reverse engineer or deliberately overload the bot.
Submit false check-ins, scores, identities, roster details or eligibility information.
Impersonate another player, staff member, team or organisation.
Attempt to access private channels, commands, data or permissions not assigned to you.
Evade suspensions, bans, match penalties or account restrictions.
Use the bot to harass, threaten, defraud or expose personal information about another person.
Exploit bugs or interfere with CTS, Discord, Supabase, Render, Netlify or related infrastructure.

You should report security or integrity issues privately to CTS rather than publishing an active exploit.

6. Competition Actions and Records

Bot commands assist with CTS operations, but official event rules and staff decisions control the competition.

A Discord check-in is valid only when accepted by CTS during the permitted check-in window.
A result submitted through Discord may require staff review before becoming official.
CTS may correct scores, check-ins, schedules, roles or notifications where an error or rule breach is identified.
Players remain responsible for checking the CTS website and official event communications.
Bot messages do not override published event rules, dispute outcomes or administrator decisions.

7. Discord Messages and Notifications

Linked players may receive Discord DMs or permitted channel mentions according to CTS notification settings. Delivery is not guaranteed because Discord permissions, privacy settings, outages or blocked DMs may prevent a message.

Sensitive matters such as moderation, disputes and private staff communications are intended for private delivery rather than public webhook messages.

A missed Discord notification does not remove a player’s responsibility to review their CTS account, event page, match room, schedule and official staff instructions.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

CTS may warn, restrict, unlink, suspend or ban a user from bot functions where reasonably necessary to enforce event rules, protect users, preserve competition integrity or secure the service.

Where appropriate, CTS may retain relevant records, notify event staff, remove Discord roles or private-channel access, and refer serious conduct to Discord or lawful authorities.

9. Availability and Changes

The bot is provided on an “as available” basis. We may update, pause, remove or change commands, notification routes, permissions, hosting or integrations without guaranteeing uninterrupted service.

Maintenance, Discord outages, provider failures, internet conditions, software defects and security events may cause delay or unavailability.

10. Third-Party Services

The bot depends on Discord and CTS service providers including Supabase, Render and Netlify. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

CTS is not responsible for changes, suspensions, outages or account actions controlled solely by a third-party platform.

11. Disclaimers and Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CTS does not guarantee that the bot will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device or sufficient as the sole source of tournament information.

CTS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from missed notifications, Discord settings, third-party outages, user-provided information, unauthorised account access or use contrary to these terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. Where liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited to re-supplying the relevant service or the reasonable cost of doing so.

12. Ending Use

You may stop using the bot at any time and use /unlink to remove the active account connection. Server administrators may also remove the app from a Discord server.

CTS may end or restrict access for breach of these terms, security reasons, legal requirements, platform policy changes or discontinuation of the service.

Sections concerning competition records, privacy, intellectual property, liability, enforcement and governing law continue where their nature requires.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms when bot features, competition processes, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in New South Wales, Australia, without excluding any mandatory protections that apply in your location. Courts with jurisdiction in New South Wales may hear disputes, subject to applicable consumer-law rights.

Do not send passwords, Discord bot tokens, Supabase service-role keys or payment credentials through a support request.
